How to factory reset your phone

Whether you are resetting your phone to sell, trade-in or give to a family member, securely erase your device with our simple guide.

Resetting an iPhone

Tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device]

Then tap Erase All Content and Settings

If asked, enter your passcode or Apple ID password

Wait for your device to erase. This should only take a few moments.
